❄️ Baby, it’s cold outside ❄️

fashion

So today in England, it started to snow!! Even though snow itself is beautiful, the temperature isn’t as much and I don’t know about you but I hate being cold! But lets just take a minute to thank the high-street retailers for their warm and fashionable coats. I love love love coats, I seem to have a weird obsession with them and if I could afford it, I would have a wardrobe just for coats. Is that weird? So I thought that I would pick some of my fav coats on the high-street at the moment.. I’m not sure if that’s to benefit you or me lol! It’s strange because when I was younger, you couldn’t get me to put on my coat for a n y t h i n g but now, I feel like my outfit isn’t finished without one!

Gingham for AW17

fashion, Uncategorized

Good afternoon my lovelies,

Gingham became a very popular trend in SS17 and seeing as trends come and go, I was expecting it to fade out as we enter AW17. However, I’ve been proven wrong! (don’t tell my boyfriend that, he’ll get excited 😉). Even though we haven’t entered AW17 yet, it is just round the corner and shops are starting to get their seasonal clothes in and I’ve noticed that gingham is still on the shelves. So today I thought that I would share with you guys some of my fav gingham pieces in the shops which are more.. wintery.

I thought that I would start with wrap dresses and tie up tops. Both of the wrap dresses above are very similar, the first one is from New Look but can be found on ASOS here for £24.99 and the second one is from Missguided here for £25.00. Both of the wrap dresses have a V neck and tie up around the waist which is very flattering however, I prefer the one from Newlook (and ASOS) as the whole dress has a wrap around detail rather than the wrap around detail just at the top.

I absolutely LOVE the half checked top at the end with the tie up detail. I think that the half checked and half plain detail just makes the top special and I love love love it! The tie waist starts from the side of the top rather than all the way round and this is quite popular at the moment as most skirts in shops at the moment have this detail also. This top is from Misspap here for £24.00.

I wouldn’t normally wear blouses myself as I’m more of a sporty girl and I don’t have an office job so I don’t have much reason to wear one however, I’m loving these gingham print blouses with the extra detail which will definitely turn heads! The first gingham top with ruffle detail and a bow at the collar is from Newlook here for £22 and the floral embroidered top with flute sleeves is from Missselfridge here for £28.

One thing I love about autumn/winter is coats. I feel like a coat can make or break an outfit and in this case, these coats will definitely make an outfit! The first coat is from River Island here for £80.00 and the second coat is from Zara here for £59.99.

What’s your fav gingham piece that you have in your wardrobe or on your wish list?

Ways to Wear – Yellow

fashion, Uncategorized

Good afternoon! I’m sat here on Tuesday afternoon trying to think about a regular post that I can do on my blog. Seeing as I’m a Visual Merchandiser, I put outfits together on a daily basis so I thought that I would start doing ‘Ways to Wear’ blog posts. Obviously this is all to my taste and I understand that they won’t be to yours but even if it gives you a little inspiration, my job is done 😉.

I’m not sure if you guys have noticed but clothing shops are gradually filling their shelves with yellow/mustard which might give hints that this is the growing colour for the next season (which I can understand because mustard and yellow give me autumn vibes). Mustard/Yellow may scare some people as it’s such a bold colour but I think it looks beautiful on and personally for me, it is the best colour to work with.

Today, I have searched the highstreet brands and put an outfit together just from their website! I like a little challenge 😉

misguided

Lets start with Missguided. The key piece of this outfit is the mustard faux suede biker jacket (obviously). I love jackets in mustard whether that’s a biker jacket, a leather jacket, puffa jacket .. The list goes on. It’s a statement piece and makes your outfit go POP haha! The jacket is a zip up jacket and also has a buckle belt around the waist but personally, I prefer the jacket left open. The jacket is for sale at £35.00.

Missguided themselves have dressed the jacket with a rock graphic tee and a black denim ripped hem short. I changed the denim shorts to a pair with more rips in just to give it more of a rock-chick look. The shorts are £25.00 and the top is £18.00.

riverisland

Next up is River Island. I chose the beautiful yellow floral blouse that has a frill sleeve. Clothes, especially tops with a frill detail are very IN at the moment and the peplum finish on the top makes it extra special. The top is £30.00.

I choose to lighten the outfit up with a pair of bright blue jeans. I didn’t want to go over the top with rips but I didn’t want the denim to be boring either so I chose to go with a distressed pair. These jeans are called Amelie, they are a super skinny fit and are £42.00.

When choosing accessories for an outfit, I like to look at the key colours in the main item which in this case, would be the top. I didn’t want to go over the top with the yellow so I chose a hot pink. Slingback shoes are making a popular re-appearance and I feel that they make an outfit look classy. If you didn’t want to wear pink shoes with the outfit, you can wear pink elsewhere like in your ears. You may not want to wear these exact ear-rings with the outfit as it could be seen as too much but they are cute 😉. The shoes are £36.00 and the ear-rings are £8.00.

boohoo

Boohoo are amazing for Co-ords (I actually previously blogged about it here) so I thought that I would show you their amazing frill detailed yellow co-ord. This set is quite daring so I thought I would show you what other top you could wear the trousers with incase the co-ord doesn’t tickle your fancy 😉. I chose a white bardot crop top with a peplum frill detail as I feel like a crop top would look best with these trousers however, you could always make it look more wintery with a plain roll neck if you don’t want to get cold.. I know what this British weather is like haha! The trousers are £18.00, the matching top is £15.00 and the white bardot top is £12.00.

As you all know, I’m quite a sporty-chic myself so of course, I would choose to wear trainers with this outfit. But if you’re feeling more dressy, you can wear barely there heel shoes. The trainers are £15.00.

misspap

I absolutely love this top from MissPap!! The frill sleeves and ruffle style just works for me! I have dressed this top with black jeans that have a cross tie effect which have become very popular recently! As the top is a WOW piece itself, you may chose to dress it with just a plain pair of black jeans – I just thought that I would show you something a little different. The top is £25.00 and the jeans are £35.00.

yellow acc

Next up is accessories. If you’re wearing all black or feel like an outfit needs spicing up, why not accessorize with a pop of colour! Tassle ear-rings and cross body bags are becoming very trendy at the moment and it’s a trend I’m liking 😉.

Topshop cross body bag is £25.00 and the suede shoes are £35.00 in the sale.

River Island tassle ear-rings are £10.00 and the quilted bag is £32.00

Asos floral clutch bag is £30.00 and the ear-rings are £26.00

Soon I’ll be uploading a Pinterest edit on Yellow/Mustard so stay tuned. For now if you want more reading, take a peak at my Lady in Red Pinterest edit here

💓 Lady in Red 💓

fashion, Uncategorized

What makes a woman look fiery, sexy and sassy? Red of course so no wonder that red is this seasons colour! 🔥

No matter what type of girl you are or what type of clothes you wear, red looks great! I thought that I would do a little post on some key pieces for everyone’s wardrobe.

riverisland

One key piece for your wardrobe is this beautiful culotte jumpsuit that ties up at the waist and has a cross detail back. The strappy detail and culotte style makes this jumpsuit easy to style for your casual wear as you could dress it with a casual tee and trainers. If you were going out for the evening, you could dress the jumpsuit up with a barely there heel. Perfect!! This jumpsuit is from River Island and costs £50.00

I still have a soft spot for frilly/flare trousers. I just think that they make an outfit look more interesting .. effortless and interesting – what more would you want? 😄. These trousers are from Pretty Little Thing and are £15.00

missguided

Every girl needs a body suit in their wardrobe as they are so so easy to style. This bodysuit is from Missguided and costs £18.00. If you want to save money and you happen to have a red swimsuit in your wardrobe, why not style that with a pair of jeans or leather skirt.. Same difference, right? 😉

riverislandjacket

Every girl needs a biker jacket in their wardrobe and that’s including a suede one! This suede jacket is from River Island and costs £60.00

Studs have been in fashion now for a while and it looks like they’re not going away any time soon. This beaut studded leather skirt is from Pretty Little Thing and costs £25.00

OOTD

Uncategorized

Good evening lovely bloggers!

I thought that I’d do a quick post of my OOTD because even though it’s a lazy Sunday, we all know that I dig a good casual sporty outfit 😉

So today I thought that I would wear my fav leggings. That’s right, I said leggings.. Can you believe that you can get fully ripped leggings?! (okay I might be the only one who was shocked at this lol). My leggings are from River Island for those of you who would like to get your hands on them too.. I wouldn’t blame you 😉. These leggings are £22 which I agree, is quite expensive for a pair of leggings with rips but for those money savvy people, why not buy some plain black leggings and cut the holes yourself? I’d love to see how they turn out 😁 I was too lazy to do them myself haha.

I paired my leggings with a graphic body suit and added colour by dressing it with a red checked shirt. A red checked shirt is a wardrobe essential in my eyes 😉.

WAYS TO WEAR – MUSTARD JACKET

Uncategorized

Did you spend a lot of money on a jacket but feel like you don’t get enough wear out of it for the money value? Or are you wanting to buy an expensive jacket but don’t know what you’re going to wear it with? Well, fear not! I am here to help 😉

Below, you will see that I have dressed a mustard suede biker jacket from River Island three different ways. I absolutely love this jacket and the colour but it isn’t cheap. So I thought I’d show you three different ways to wear this jacket so you feel like you’re not wasting money.

mustardjacket2

The first way to wear is styling the mustard jacket with Gingham Frill Trousers. These trousers are from Pretty Little Thing. Some may feel like dressing gingham with a mustard suede jacket is too much so to break it up, I’ve dressed it with a casual graphic tee which is also from River Island. One popular trend at the moment is dressing a graphic tee with smart trousers and I LOVE it! My type of trend lol

MustardJacket1

Another way to wear the mustard jacket is to wear it with a rock style graphic tee. Of course you can style it with any rock tee that you would like but I’ve chose a bodysuit as it is more fitting. The bodysuit is from Pretty Little Thing and I chose it because it has the mustard colour in with it. I’ve then chose to dress it with black ripped skinny jeans to make this look more ‘rock chic‘. These jeans are from Topshop.

mustard3

Last but not least, I thought the mustard jacket was perfect to match with a stripe tee. You could dress it with a more prominent black and white stripe basic tee but I chose to tone it down with a more girlie style bardot frill top which is beaut. Again you can wear this with jeans but I’ve chose to style it with a leather skirt. The leather skirt is from New Look and I love it because of the zip detail  😍.

I hope you liked the different looks and if you have any other ideas on how to style, please let me know in the comments below 😄

Gingham 🔲

Uncategorized

Lets spring back a few weeks ago to my blog post ‘Spring into RI‘ (once again, the link is just down below 😉) where I blogged about my fav pieces in the new River Island spring advert. In the advert, the model wore a beautiful gingham playsuit which I was crushing on and I just couldn’t resist.. I HAD to try it on 😍 😍.  Now lets just point the obvious out here because I feel like it’s the elephant in the room.. Yes, I am in a shop changing room and yes, it still has the tag on but it still looks beautiful, right? 😉 but can we please appreciate how beautiful this playsuit is pls? Not only does it have the very fashionable print of gingham, it also has the in season frill – perfect duo!!!

In the advert, they’ve layered it with a gingham blouse which is also beautiful but I prefer the two items separately. In this picture, I’ve layered it with a plain black tee simply because it’s too cold at the moment to go out with bare legs and bare arms.. And of course, layering is key 🔑
